Have A GR8T & Safe Weekend …& Remember, “BE!”

Filed under: Thoughts from Chuckie — chuckie @ 12:24 am

The funny thing about working out is I find I solve a lot of the worlds problems during the SWEATING!.

Mentally I feel so much better every time time I work out.  I now feel like some sort of a crack-head or in this case “Sweat-Head” because I just gotta get my daily fix.  Plus if you will look below, I am constantly running from this old fat guy (the one with the Charlie Brown tie on).

Anyway, during one of my sweat to solve the world’s issues I concluded the following.

We spend most of our life running after things, doing things. If you are like me, we forget that being comes before doing. Those who remember this secret make an effort to “be” and discover that when we stop and observe, life helps and brings whatever is needed.  Learning to be is learning to be at peace.  It is our most fundamental nature.

So BE!

One  last parting thought before i bid you a GR8T Weekend:

The majority of men meet with failure because of their lack of persistence in creating new plans to take the place of those, which fail.

The Man In The Mirror…MWAH!

Filed under: Thoughts from Chuckie — chuckie @ 12:25 am

This is a mirror moment for me today.  I hope this realization that I have come to will somehow bring about a measure of peace for you as well in terms of dealing with shall we say challenging folk.

I now realize, but must constantly remind myself, that we have the power to tolerate anyone and any situation. But tolerance is not just suffering in silence.  It means going beyond any personal discomfort you may feel, and giving a gift to whom ever you would tolerate.  Give your time, attention, understanding, compassion, care - all are gifts, which paradoxically, you also receive in the process of giving.  And, I feel that as we do, we will experience improved self esteem and inner strength growth.  In this way we can turn tolerance into strength.

Now how cool is that!  “I HAVE DA POWER!”. Now, if I could just always remember that!

Do Me This Favor….

Filed under: Thoughts from Chuckie — chuckie @ 4:35 am

Dear fellow passengers,

As we venture into this weekend remember, whatever has happened is now in the past. We have now laid down another week.  So, do me this favor…Do not think about the past. Learn from whatever has happened in the past (this week) and be cautious in the future. The past belongs to the past.  Let us now let go of it, because it does not belong to us anymore.

Have a Great Weekend - With Love…Chuckie

A Reminder of: The Clay Balls…

Filed under: Thoughts from Chuckie — chuckie @ 1:22 am

As I reflect on the curse of divorce, broken friendships and even estranged family members, the story of the clay balls seems most appropriate to share. What amazes me the most as I do my research for the things that I write I am especially saddened that amongst us Christians, who should be the shinning example of successful marriages, we are the largest growing numbers of divorcees.

Perhaps if we keep the following story in mind going forward in 2007, we can circumvent throwing away…the clay balls.

Clay Balls:

A man was exploring caves by the seashore. In one of the caves he
found a canvas bag with a bunch of hardened clay balls. It was like someone had rolled clay balls and left them out in the sun to bake.

They didn’t look like much, but they intrigued the man, so he took the
bag out of the cave with him. As he strolled along the beach, he would
throw the clay balls one at a time out into the ocean as far as he could.

He thought little about it, until he dropped one of the clay balls and
it cracked open on a rock. Inside was a beautiful, precious stone!

Excited, the man started breaking open the remaining clay balls. Each
contained a similar treasure. He found thousands of dollars worth of
jewels in the 20 or so clay balls he had left. Then it struck him.

He had been on the beach a long time. He had thrown maybe 50 or 60 of
the clay balls with their hidden treasure into the ocean waves. Instead of
thousands of dollars in treasure, he could have taken home tens of
thousands, but he had just thrown it away!

It’s like that with people. We look at someone, maybe even ourselves,
and we see the external clay vessel. It doesn’t look like much from the
outside. It isn’t always beautiful or sparkling, so we discount it.

We see that person as less important than someone more beautiful or
stylish or well known or wealthy But we have not taken the time to find the treasure hidden inside that person.

There is a treasure in each and every one of us. If we take the time to
get to know that person, and if we ask God to show us that person the
way He sees them, then the clay begins to peel away and the brilliant gem begins to shine forth.

May we not come to the end of our lives and find out that we have thrown away a fortune in friendships because the gems were hidden in bits of clay. May we see the people in our world as God sees them.

I am so blessed by the gems of friendship I have with each of you here on the Life Train. The list grows everyday. While I am not most gifted blogger (writer) I want to Thank you all for looking beyond my clay vessel and taking the time to visit my blog.

The Bible says:

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10: Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him that is alone when he falleth, for hath not another to help him up.

That is also the scripture for “Chuckie’s Challenge”.
I write from the heart…I make no excuses…
