I really think that we sometimes take for granted that there is very real fighting taking place; there’s a war going on. Arguments can be made for the validity of it all. However, that does not negate the fact that many of our brothers and sisters are answering the call to fight for our country. Let’s take a moment today to recognize the sacrifices being made by our soldiers and thier respective families. May God bless them.
Dear Lord,
There’s a young woman far from home,
serving her nation with pride.
Her step is strong, her step is sure,
there is courage in every stride.
We pray You keep her safe,
we pray You keep her strong,
we pray You send her safely home …
for she’s been away too long.
There’s a young man far from home,
called to serve his nation in time of war;
sent to defend our freedom
on some distant foreign shore.
We pray You keep him safe,
we pray You keep him strong,
we pray You send him safely home …
for he’s been away so long.
Bless those who await their safe return.
Bless those who mourn the lost.
Bless those who serve this country well,
no matter what the cost.
God, Bless America!
Hey, even if you don’t believe in what we are fighting for, you still need to pray for those who are fighting. They are there because they feel what they are doing is right. (Only the Lord knows their heart!!)Our leaders could be making bad decision after bad decision, but our Men and Women are there out of a commitment that they made and not for political and certainly not for financial gain!! (I know, because I’ve been there, it don’t pay much!!). May our troops have the protection of the Holy Spirit and may the Lord bless their journey through perilous times. Amen
Thanks for reminding me of my own selfishness. I respect and admire our Men and Women who are committed to defending those they will never know.I agree that we should constantly keep them before the Lord for the bible tells us that we are to pray ye one for another it didn’t say only for those you know of.
