Ok everyone, got the scoop from my gurl Shelly G. and confirmed it with my other gurl Dee Tood. It’s on! NC A&T will play NC Central in “THE BRAWL FOR IT ALL”, braggin rights for one year for this Football showdown. My main man Pete has drawn the gauntlet for the Eagles with his poem below about the rivary.Â

So raise your glass and let us toast
the rivalry we loved the most.
For autumn leaves have always meant
a sure September Sunday spent
with hopes and dreams routinely dashed
as player’s sweat and helmets clashed
and marching bands four times their size
would oft bring tears to Eagle eyes
so loyal and still full of hope
that one day we’d see Greensboro mope.
And then a strange thing came our ways.
The fools slipped up and let go Hayes.
The answer to our prayers and yearns
and so our football fortunes turned
on Ammons, Hayes and Broadway too
who knew exactly what to do.
And as our expectations grew
the spirit that our father’s knew
returned to lift our mighty wings
and caused our very souls to sing
and raise from places we had sunk
not Aggie Pride, but Eagle Funk.
So now that we’ve won two of four
the Aggies turn eyes toward the door
cause they know just as well as we
that two, in fact, should have been three.
Take heart good friends, we’ll meet again
another plan would be in vain.
Cause history created bonds
through years of chance and Chancellor’s con.
a rivalry that tests all time
and ending it would be a crime.
So let us think of it this way
make other plans for labor day
but know for sure they cannot run
the day we come Division 1
and pardon if I sound naggy
the reckoning day for those Baggies!
